“One single tree in Peru was found to harbor forty-three different species of ants – a total that approximates the entire number of ant species in the British Isles”. (The Healing Power of Rainforest Herbs (Square One Publishers, Inc. Garden City, NY 11040, © Copyrighted 2004) By Leslie Taylor)
2011 was declared the International Year of Forests by the United Nations (http://www.iucn.org/about/work/programmes/forest/iyf/?gclid=COesu4Pn36cCFQXabgodtTY28A) and since then Zoo Peru has taken a higher focus to the protection of critical habitats such as Amazon rainforest. Since 2011 we have managed 700acres of rainforest for conservation purposes and are helping to lock up land for conservation through our Rescue Rainforest project .

Your donation will help us to conserve precious rainforest. Join others who have rescued rainforest and done their bit to help the environment. For each acre of rainforest you preserve your name will appear on a tree on our website to help build the forest.
