Experience:
Since 1988, Taggart has worked with a large variety of Australian native and exotic animals in both Australia and in the Peruvian Amazon Basin in South America . Ever since May1993, Taggart has spent the vast majority of his time and efforts focused on assisting the animals at the Quistococha Zoo and educating people from all over the world about the importance of conservation. When in Peru , Taggart is the acting curator of the animals and the facilities at the Quistococha Zoo. He has hand reared many animals ranging from kangaroos and wombats, to giant river otter and jaguars. He has also helped to design and implement immersion rainforest exhibits within the Peruvian Amazon, assisted in veterinary procedures and established keeper routines and schedules. Taggart has developed a strong knowledge of South American fauna through years of hands-on and practical experience in the field and has a clear understanding of the effects of poaching within the Peruvian Amazon. Taggart has also been lecturing professionally for years throughout Australia on his efforts within Peru .

Melendez acts as the official liaison between all government officials, contacts and volunteers and administration of the Quistococha Zoo for Zoo Peru Inc. He handles and is in change of all documents and matters Peruvian for Zoo Peru Inc. Being a professional English teacher and thus fluent in both English and Spanish, native to the Peruvian Amazon and having a deep sense of compassion for the people and the flora and fauna of the Amazon, Melendez has been a vital component in every success story of Zoo Peru Inc. since it first began and will be will continue to be this way for years to come.
